A Frozen Tale
By M.G. Knight
Christmas white, sparkling bright
Across the snow-swept glade
Stars of light in the velvet night
Twinkling like beads of jade.
Glass between what is seen
Beyond the frosted pane
A fire behind, the marshmallow-roast kind,
Crackling and cackling like stone-ish rain.
Snowflakes sail in the windswept gale
And above the river’s purloined flow.
All is still, listening to winter’s will,
Glazed with silver and moonglow.
I breathe it in and wonder when,
As I stare out at this sparkling land.
For all is merry, all is bright
Upon this snowy night.
